Explore the Jungle in a Few Hours

Your trekking experience begins in the morning or afternoon, depending on your preferred schedule. Your local guide will meet you at your guesthouse in Bukit Lawang and accompany you to the start of the trail.

From the village, you will begin walking through local forest paths and gradually enter the Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the most important tropical rainforests in Sumatra.

During this short jungle trek, you may have the chance to encounter semi-wild Sumatran orangutans in their natural habitat. These incredible primates are one of the main highlights of Bukit Lawang and seeing them in the wild is a truly memorable experience.

Along the trail, your guide will also help you look for other rainforest wildlife such as Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Long-tailed Macaques, tropical birds, and unique jungle plants.

The walk is designed to be enjoyable and accessible, making it a great option for families, couples, beginners, and travelers with limited time.

During the trek, your guide will also share interesting information about the rainforest, local wildlife, and the ecosystem of Gunung Leuser National Park.

Depending on the route and weather conditions, you may also stop at scenic points to enjoy views of the surrounding jungle and the beautiful Bohorok River valley.

After approximately 3 hours of trekking, you will return to Bukit Lawang with unforgettable memories of your short jungle adventure.
